Santa Catarina Fonte do Bispo
Santa Catharina Fonte do Bispo is the lovely pittoresque Village where Villa Metacasa belongs to. You will find a few small supermarkets and some stores; hardware, pharmacy, office supplies. All on village scale.
Worth visiting is the bakery/cafe Madeiras Pao Quente who offers the best bread coffee and Pastel de Nata.

Olhao
Olhão is a town for people who like the real Portugal, its history and culture, the beautiful islands and beaches, the nature reserve and the beautiful hinterlands.
The 1.3 km boulevard in Olhão is one of the best in the whole Algarve, due to its green parks, childrens play areas. The famous red brick buildings housing the covered daily (except Sundays) fish, fruit and vegetable markets, the local products/ gipsy market on Saturday and the many excellent cafés/coffee shops, bars and restaurants.
Beaches
There are a number of beaches to choose from. They are located on the other side of the lagune. They all take you trough that first. Praia do Barril you can reach by walking or taking the minitrain. Fuzeta Island you take a ferry, Ilha da Armona, Ilha do Farol, Praia do Ancao, Ilha Deserta, Praia de Ilha de Tavira.

In Faro there is a beach behind the airport which is reachable by car, but parking can be a challenge.
